2006 - Wilderness : Fear and loathing

What did I get myself into ? my first thoughts as I picked up suspect number one.11 hours later we arrived in Wilderness - ready for the madness!

Yes it was ruckus from the start - the suspects Pieter, JJ ,Rebel and myself hooked up with the rest of the mad cadies. It was GO from the start and we were out to prove that there is indeed method to the madness!

Wilderness CKY was born - Friends and Family from far met up to take control of Wilderness and the Garden route.We booked into The Beach House - a backpackers lodge with awesome views, situated close to all the action.

Bongos - the pub /pizza place was our boardroom and we started out from there every night. There’s not really much to do in Wilderness so we moved along the Garden route to seek out new adventures.

I must say that I am disappointed with the way that Knysna have devolved other the past couple of years. It’s lost its atmosphere and the service is poor. It’s become overrated and it feels like the uptown folk have really made a mess of a place that use to have a lot of soul.

The Oyster co was making so much money that they didn’t even attempt to show any hospitality - driving all the way from Wilderness to Knysna for oysters was a mistake. We had to settle for Oysters at alternative restaurants and their oysters were actually better and bigger - Knysna Oyster Co can go down for all that I care -and I'm sure that I am not the first to say it !

Cruise director - Pete has never done the garden route before so we tried to pack the trip full of exploration. Here are some of the good times captured during Wilderness CKY.
