2004 - Houtbay
I've been living in Cape Town since 2002 and my life has changed for the better since the move.No more : peak-hour , bumper to bumper traffic - I lived in PTA and worked in Rosebank JHB before my Cape Town move. It's been a paid holiday if you asked me.
Unfortunately images from the start of the Cape Town journey is lost and I could only start from 2004.
I moved to the small village called Houtbay in 2004.I was lucky to spot a rental ad for a huge double storey , 4 bedroom house with spectacular views and Karbonkelberg Nature reserve as my backyard.
I lived in Houtbay for a year and a half.Unfortunately I had to move in 2005, closer to work and I had to say goodbye to the Republic of Houtbay.
It was and still is a great place, so I transfered the lease to my family.They still live there and I go and visit regularly to soak up the beauty of Houtbay.
