2005 - Kogelbay : My new backyard
When I lived in Houtbay there were plenty scenic routes to drive. After the move to Gordons Bay I thought that nothing could compare to the routes I was use to.
Well, I was wrong - Gordons Bay have the perfect Sunday drive - The R44 AKA Clarence Drive.
The R44 coastal road starts at Gordons bay and leads to the Kogelberg Biosphere - considered as the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom.
It's a great drive - follow the route passing the coastal getaways: Kogelbay, Rooiels, Pringle Bay, Betty's Bay and Kleinmond.Kogelbay is a must stop - famous among surfers for the long lines of surf break with it's shining white stretch of beach.
