MAN RULES - 26 OF THEM

At last SOMEONE has taken the time to write this all down; finally we / men can get our side of the story. We always hear the rules from the female side.

These are our rules: Please note that they are all numbered as no.1

1. Men are NOT mind readers.
1. Learn to work the toilet seat:

-You're a big girl.
-If it's up, put it down.
-We need it up, you need it down.
-You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

1. Sunday sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.
1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way.
1. Crying is blackmail.
1. Ask for what you want - Let us be clear on this one:

-Subtle hints do not work!
-Strong hints do not work!
-Obvious hints do not work!-Just say it!

1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question..
1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.
1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a Problem. See a doctor.
1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become
null and void after 7 Days.
1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't expect us to act like soap opera guys.
1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don’t ask us.
1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one
1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.
1. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during commercials.
1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.
1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings :

-Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color.
-Pumpkin is also a fruit.
-We have no idea what mauve is.

1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.
1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," We will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.
1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.
1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine.... Really…
1. Don’t ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as baseball, the shotgun formation, or golf.
1. You have enough clothes.
1. You have too many shoes.
1. I am in shape. Round IS a shape!
1. Thank you for reading this. Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight; But did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping.

2007 – Paarl Limiet Berg: Du Toitskloof - Krom River Trail

We decided to do some hiking on Sunday and Limietberg / Du Toitskloof was the destination.I have been amped to hike in this area since the first time that I drove the Du Toits kloof pass.

It’s an awesome hike- very easy with spectacular landscapes. We had to choose between the Krom River and Elands river trail. Both were the same distance , without knowing what to expect we decided on the Krom river trail.

The trail follows next to the Krom River with amazing / refreshing rockpools and waterfalls allong the trail. It was a hot day 33 °C and I took advantage of the rock pools by cooling down at the first waterfall.

More Details on the trail
via capenature.org.za

Trail distance: 7km (5 hours)
Nearest town: Paarl

Region: Boland

Trail description:

This easy out-and-back trail starts in Du Toitskloof, immediately to the left after the Worcester exit of the Huguenot Tunnel. Permit holders can park at a fenced parking area; about 700m after the tunnel, on the left side of the road near the tunnel control truck stop.

From the parking area the trail leads back towards the tunnel (as for the Elands River Trail). Look for a sign beneath the two bridges indicating the direction of the Krom River Trail. The trail crosses the Krom and Molenaars Rivers and leads for 2.5km (about 2.5 hours) to the Krom River waterfall.

The first section (about 10 minutes) of the footpath follows the right bank of the Molenaars River in the direction of the old tunnel. When it reaches the Krom River the path follows the right side of the kloof. At the top end of the kloof the vegetation becomes more dense. The last section leads through indigenous riverine forest to the first waterfall.

This very popular trail may be inaccessible in winter after heavy rains when the river can be difficult and dangerous to cross. It may be closed in winter. Hikers are cautioned when climbing between the first and second waterfalls, and are advised to carry a rope. The second waterfall and large plunge pool are quite spectacular.

2007 - Sunsets : Gordon's Bay and Stellenbosch

Gordon’s bay, the Strand, Somerset West and Stellenbosch are blessed with some of the finest sunsets. We miss the last part of the sunsets due to mountains situated across Falsebay.

The opposite mountains that pinch the last bit of sun helps out with the sunsets.Refraction of the last hour intensifies the colors and this is when the amazing vanilla , red and orange sunsets occur !

These magnificent sunsets occur frequently and I normally stop and take a couple photos.

2006 - Wilderness : Welcoming the new year

We had a couple of choices for the New Year: A Natures valley bash with some bands, Herolds Bay or plain old Bongos.

The weather looked a bit foul so Herolds bay was out, driving too Natures Valley was a bit risky and we had enough of Bongos. We all agreed to greet the New Year by staying in Wilderness at the Lodge.

The festivities kicked off and we all made it to the countdown. It’s always a blast to enter the New Year with good friends and family.

Here are some of the photos taken before and after the countdown.
